Syracuse women’s basketball rolls past Boston College on Senior Day

Syracuse women’s basketball closed the regular season with a 90-65 victory over Boston College on Senior Day Sunday, finishing with a 22-7 overall record and a 12-6 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

The Orange built control early, opening the game on an 8-0 run while holding Boston College scoreless for more than three minutes. Syracuse carried a 23-13 lead after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 41-30 by halftime behind strong defensive pressure and efficient scoring inside.

Uche Izoje led Syracuse with her 13th double-double of the season, recording 24 points and 12 rebounds while adding multiple blocks. The performance marked her sixth 20-point game of the year and seventh consecutive contest scoring in double figures.

Syracuse widened the margin in the third quarter as Dominique Darius connected from three-point range and Laila Phelia added a three during a decisive run that pushed the lead to 20 points. Maddy Potts capped the period with a buzzer-beating three-pointer, giving the Orange a 70-48 advantage entering the fourth quarter.

Four Syracuse players finished in double figures, with Phelia scoring 11 points and Darius and Potts adding 10 each. Freshman Jasmyn Cooper contributed a career-high eight points off the bench as the Orange maintained control throughout the final period.

Syracuse secured a first-round bye in the 2026 Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament and will begin postseason play Thursday, March 5, in the second round in Duluth, Georgia.
