Residents on the south side of the canal in Seneca Falls should expect sewer maintenance throughout March as the town begins routine flushing of its sanitary sewer system.
The Town of Seneca Falls Water & Sewer Department will conduct the work from March 1 through March 31, between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day.
Town officials said the flushing is part of an ongoing infrastructure program designed to ensure proper operation of the sewer system.
During the work, residents may notice gurgling or bubbling in toilets or drains, temporary sewer odors, minor splashing from toilets, or brief discoloration of water.
The town advises residents to keep toilet lids closed during flushing hours and limit water use when possible while crews are working. If water appears discolored, residents should run cold water until it clears.
Anyone experiencing ongoing issues or with questions can contact the Town of Seneca Falls Water & Sewer Department at 315-568-6211.
