A 29-year-old East Bloomfield woman faces a child endangerment charge after deputies said she was caught on camera slamming a child to the ground.
Heather M. Carlson was arrested at about 10:57 a.m. Feb. 26 at 2469 State Route 444, Lot 34, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies charged Carlson with endangering the welfare of a child following what authorities described as a family trouble incident.
Investigators said Carlson was seen on camera slamming the child onto their back and screaming in the child’s face after becoming upset about a diaper. Authorities said the child became fearful, screamed and cried, and that the actions were likely to be injurious to the child’s mental, moral or physical welfare.
The sheriff’s office said the child was not injured.
Carlson was taken to the Ontario County Jail, where she is being held pending centralized arraignment. She is scheduled to return to East Bloomfield Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
