Trumansburg schools project aid boost

Trumansburg schools expect a bump in state aid and property tax revenue as they build the 2026-27 budget, according to district officials. Leaders say Albany currently projects an extra $531,345 in aid, a 3.5% increase.

Universal pre-K funding drives much of that jump. The state raised per-pupil UPK aid to $10,000, up from about $6,700, for the district’s 36 students. Officials also project about $660,000 more in property tax revenue, fueled by new homes and business growth.

Labor costs continue to rise under union contracts, shaping next year’s spending plan. The district will hold more public presentations before voters decide on the budget May 21.
