Sterling man accused of blocking 911 call

Deputies say a Sterling man interfered with a 911 call during a reported domestic incident.

Jacob T. Pierce, 23, of Sterling, faces one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief for preventing an emergency call.

Deputies responded to a reported domestic incident in the Town of Sterling around 10:41 a.m. February 18. The victim told deputies she argued with Pierce and tried to call 911, but Pierce interfered multiple times. She said that once Pierce realized the call went through, he fled the residence.

Deputies located Pierce a short time later. Authorities said he gave admissions about preventing the 911 call from being completed. Deputies took him into custody and transported him to the Public Safety Building for processing and CAP arraignment.
