Man charged after meth found in Genoa

Deputies say a small bag of methamphetamine led to charges after parole officers took a Genoa man into custody.

Andrew J. Hulslander, 23, of Genoa, faces one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Deputies responded to an address on Route 90 in Genoa around 8:48 p.m. January 28 to assist parole officers already on scene. Parole officers had taken Hulslander into custody on a warrant when they located a small bag containing a white crystallized substance.

Deputies tested the substance and received a positive result for methamphetamine weighing .9 grams. Authorities charged Hulslander and issued him an appearance ticket. They then brought him to the Cayuga County Jail on the parole warrant.
