Text messages show Jeffrey Epstein invited then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo to his private island in 2014, according to the Times Union. Epstein sent the invite through Cuomo’s friend, developer Andrew Farkas, while Cuomo campaigned in the Caribbean for reelection.
Epstein even offered to fly Cuomo by helicopter to his U.S. Virgin Islands compound. Cuomo’s spokesman said he never went and did not know Epstein. The released messages show no follow-up confirming any visit.
The Justice Department disclosed the texts as part of a broader document release tied to its Epstein investigation. Records also show Farkas and Epstein had a long relationship, while Epstein’s address book listed Cuomo and other prominent figures.
Cuomo resigned as governor in 2021 and has denied past wrongdoing unrelated to Epstein.
