Deputies responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Swamp Road near Peachblow Road around 6:43 p.m. February 19. They found a grey Jeep in a ditch with the engine hitting the rev limiter. Deputies saw Leonard in the driver’s seat, slumped over the steering wheel, and observed an open can of alcohol in the cup holder.

Deputies knocked on the window and woke her. Leonard exited the vehicle, told deputies she was on probation, and attempted to flee on foot. After a brief struggle, deputies took her into custody.

Authorities transported Leonard to the Public Safety Building, where she refused to commit to a chemical test. A judge arraigned her at CAP Court and set bail at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Conquest Town Court at noon February 24.
