Police: Canandaigua man resisted arrest, obstructed investigation

A disturbance involving an RTS bus driver on West Avenue ended with an arrest Friday afternoon.

Douglas A. Busch, 62, of Canandaigua, faces charges of obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and resisting arrest.

Officers responded to a West Avenue address around 2:34 p.m. on Feb. 13 after receiving a report of a disturbance. During the investigation, officers determined Busch was highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance with an RTS bus driver.

Because of his level of intoxication, officers advised Busch he was under a mental health arrest. Police say he then resisted their attempts to take him into custody.

Officers eventually placed Busch in handcuffs and transported him to Thompson Hospital for treatment. Authorities issued him an appearance ticket. He will appear in City of Canandaigua Court at a later date.
