Finger Lakes athletes strike Olympic gold

Gold medals and hometown pride swept through Rochester as local athletes delivered big at the Winter Games, according to News10NBC.

Pittsford’s Chris Lillis captured his second straight gold in mixed team aerials, while fellow Rochester skier Dylan Walczyk placed seventh in dual moguls. Both trained at Bristol Mountain. Webster’s Haley Winn scored a goal and added three assists to help Team USA women’s hockey win gold and finish undefeated.

Four Bishop Kearney alumnae joined Winn on Team USA, including Laila Edwards and Caroline “KK” Harvey, who combined for 17 points. Other graduates competed for Germany and Czechia. The U.S. finished with a record 12 gold medals and 33 total medals at the 2026 Winter Games.
