Madison Tuttle is headed back to the State Championships after a runner-up finish Friday, according to The Odessa File. The Watkins Glen senior took second in the 1,500-meter racewalk at the Section IV State Qualifier at Ithaca College’s Glazer Arena.
Tuttle clocked 7:35.81 in a field of 13, finishing behind Newfield’s Madigan White and ahead of Horseheads’ Stella Harrison. The top two advanced to States. It marks Tuttle’s third straight trip.
The championships run March 6-7 at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island. Last year, White placed ninth at States while Tuttle finished 14th as she recovered from an ACL injury. Other Watkins Glen athletes competed, including two relay teams that delivered a season-best time and an eighth-place finish.
