A traffic stop in Williamson has led to a drug charge months after deputies first pulled the vehicle over.
Deputies arrested Matthew T. Strickland, 39, of Macintosh Road in the Town of Ontario, following an investigation tied to a June 27, 2025 stop, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office .
Investigators allege that Strickland possessed narcotics during the traffic stop. After receiving results from the crime lab, deputies charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree .
Deputies also issued Strickland a citation for failure to signal prior to 100 feet .
Authorities transported Strickland to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released him on an appearance ticket. He will appear in the Town of Williamson Court at a later date to answer the charge .
