A narcotics investigation in Seneca Falls led to the seizure of dozens of fentanyl baggies, pounds of marijuana, and more than $100,000 in cash.
Mackenzie I. Verkey, 24, of Seneca Falls, faces one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office. Devin J. Verkey, 27, was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the second degree.
Sheriff Timothy Thompson said investigators executed a search warrant at a Town of Seneca Falls residence on February 18 as part of an ongoing narcotics-related investigation.
During the search, investigators seized 50 baggies of fentanyl, six pounds of marijuana, and $122,000 in U.S. currency.
Authorities processed both Mackenzie and Devin Verkey at the Seneca County Jail. A court released Mackenzie on her own recognizance following her arraignment.
Deputies released Devin on an appearance ticket. He will appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Town Court in April to answer the charge.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Seneca Falls Police Department, Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, and Geneva Police Department.
