An Albany Law School student drove across the country and crashed into an energy facility near the Hoover Dam before taking his own life, authorities said, according to the Times Union.
Police identified the 23-year-old as Dawson Maloney, a member of the class of 2027 at Albany Law School. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said he rammed a secured gate near Boulder City, wore body armor and had multiple firearms in his rental car.
Investigators also found extremist-themed books and explosive materials at his hotel and searched residences in Albany. The FBI is leading the terrorism-related investigation. The school called his death tragic and offered condolences.
