Railhead Brewing in Hornell closing after 11 years

Hornell’s craft beer scene is losing a staple, according to the Hornell Evening Tribune, as Railhead Brewing Company prepares to close after nearly 12 years. Owners Dave Woolever and Michael McCumiskey announced the shutdown on Facebook, thanking the community for more than a decade of support.

The restaurant and brewery at 40 Park Drive will serve customers for the final time on Feb. 27. The owners say they’ve sold the business and hinted at “new beginnings” under new ownership.

Railhead will also host a brewery equipment sale Feb. 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The popular spot built its reputation on in-house craft beer and wood-fired pizzas.
