Vehicle stop leads to drug-impaired driving arrest in Farmington

A routine traffic stop in Farmington ended with a drug-impaired driving arrest and felony charges. Deputies say they found fentanyl and Xanax during the investigation.

Karina Prusakowski, 30, of Farmington, faces charges of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.

Deputies made the arrest around 11:10 p.m. Feb. 10 on Collett Road in Farmington.

Investigators say the stop began as routine. They determined Prusakowski operated a vehicle on a public highway while impaired by drugs.

Further investigation revealed she possessed less than one gram of fentanyl and nine Xanax pills without a prescription.

Deputies transported Prusakowski to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
