Olympic fever has taken over Bristol Mountain as two former ski team members compete in the Milan-Cortina Games, according to News10NBC. Dylan Walczyk raced in men’s moguls, and Chris Lillis will compete in aerials qualifying Tuesday.
Both athletes coach the Bristol ski team when they’re home, and resort leaders say their success inspires young skiers. The mountain plans a 7 a.m. watch party for Lillis’s run.
Resort officials also credit fresh natural snowfall for one of the best seasons in years. They say the powder improves trail conditions, boosts lesson bookings and keeps excitement high as skiers chase that weightless, in-control feeling down the slopes.
