Moravia schools will interview final superintendent candidates next month, according to The Citizen. The Moravia Central School District Board of Education told families it aims to fill the job in April after last year’s abrupt departure.
The board will form a 15-person community committee to review candidates and share feedback. Parents and residents who don’t work for the district can apply by Feb. 27. Leaders expect the new superintendent to start July 1, while interim chief Thomas Turck serves through June.
Former superintendent John Birmingham left in June after 10 years. He later secured a severance package worth more than $285,000.
