Canandaigua women arrested after 10 animals seized

Deputies charged two Canandaigua women after authorities executed a search warrant at a Hopewell home and removed multiple animals.

Linda L. Kline, 81, and Rosalie L. Kline, 48, both of Crabapple Drive in Canandaigua, face misdemeanor charges.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said deputies assisted the Ontario County Humane Society on Feb. 5 around 9:15 a.m. with a search warrant on Crabapple Drive in the Town of Hopewell.

Authorities said the Humane Society seized nine dogs and one cat from the residence. The Town of Hopewell Code Enforcement Office inspected the home and deemed it uninhabitable for humans.

Officials contacted Child Protective Services about the incident.

On Feb. 13, deputies arrested both women and charged them with endangering the welfare of a child and animal cruelty, both misdemeanors.

Authorities issued appearance tickets directing them to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
