Twelve Tribes lists Northside lodge for sale in Ithaca

A controversial religious group just put a landmark Northside property on the market for $1.5 million, according to The Ithaca Voice.

The Twelve Tribes of Israel listed its 11,000-square-foot Tudor-style “lodge” at 119 Third St. The four-unit building includes 17 bedrooms, gathering space, two commercial kitchens and storage. County records value the 0.70-acre site at $1.02 million. A 2022 foreclosure filing tied to the group’s mortgage was later canceled.

Zoning limits redevelopment options, and most commercial uses would require city approval. The group also operates the Yellow Deli downtown and has faced scrutiny over its beliefs and past allegations, which it disputes.
