A suspicious vehicle complaint in Auburn led to a felony drug charge this week.
Officers with the Auburn Police Department responded around 3:13 p.m. on Feb. 10 to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot behind Advance Auto Parts at 317 Genesee St.
When officers arrived, they found a vehicle occupied by a single person. Police identified the occupant as 56-year-old Douglas H. Wilson of Port Byron.
Officers woke Wilson and conducted further investigation. During that investigation, police located a quantity of cocaine inside the vehicle.
Police took Wilson into custody and charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony under New York State law.
Authorities transported Wilson to the Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment proceedings at 7 a.m. on Feb. 11. A judge arraigned him on the charge and released him on his own recognizance pending further court proceedings.
