Deputies say a door punched at a local business led to nearly $1,000 in damage and criminal charges.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man following an investigation into an incident at the Cedar Lodge in the Town of Canandaigua.
Authorities charged Dontae Cobb, 21, of County Road 50 in Canandaigua, with criminal mischief in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
The arrest stems from an incident on Feb. 11 around 8:15 a.m. at 4341 County Road 50. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies determined Cobb punched a door at the Cedar Lodge, damaging both the door frame and the locking mechanism.
Investigators said the damage totaled $997.
Deputies also said two children were present during the incident, which led to the additional charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
Cobb went to the Ontario County Jail for central arraignment processing. Authorities later released him and served him with a full stay-away order of protection.
He will appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
