Five Auburn standouts are heading to the state championships after a strong showing at sectionals, according to The Citizen. The team competed Wednesday at the Section III state qualifiers at SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College.
Kyleen Brady led the girls with runner-up finishes in the 3,000 and 1,500. Owen Gasper won the 1,600 for the boys, while John Clemens claimed the weight throw title. Amadi Onyeani secured second in the high jump to qualify, and Sean Ringwood will run with the Section III medley relay team.
The state championships will take place March 6-7 at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
