BATH — A Bath man has been charged with a felony after police say he damaged an Amazon delivery vehicle during a road rage incident last month.
According to the Village of Bath Police Department, officers were dispatched around 6 p.m. Jan. 28 to Haverling Street for a reported road rage incident. The caller, an Amazon driver, told police the other individual involved had left the scene before officers arrived.
Police said the investigation determined the suspect became upset following a traffic incident involving the two vehicles. The suspect allegedly stopped the Amazon driver in the middle of the road, exited his vehicle and approached the delivery van. Authorities said the suspect, who was described as angry, damaged the hood of the van before fleeing. The reported damage exceeded $1,500.
After reviewing dash camera footage provided by Amazon, officers identified the suspect and questioned him.
On Feb. 5, Eric J. Jackson, 43, of Bath, turned himself in to police. He was charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, a class D felony. Jackson was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP court proceedings.
