Mud-covered tires, a broken yard lamp and a rent notice now sit at the center of a murder trial in Monroe County, according to WHAM.
Prosecutors say Jamie Busch strangled her sister, Penny Busch, after Penny tried to evict her from a Honeoye Falls home. They allege Jamie dumped the body in the Genesee River and tossed three cellphones in a dumpster. Deputies found Penny’s Jeep parked oddly behind the house during a welfare check in October 2024.
Defense attorneys argued the state lacks proof of when or where Penny died and said investigators guessed at the timeline. Testimony resumes Wednesday as jurors review body camera footage and photos.
