Teenagers from two school districts spent a day talking futures instead of tests, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Seventy-five students in grades 8–12 from Newark and Lyons attended the first Pathways to Purpose Summit on Jan. 27 at the Wayne-Finger Lakes Conference Center. The event focused on helping students explore passions, build confidence, and prepare for college and careers through small-group discussions and breakout sessions.
Psychologist and author Dr. Julia Garcia delivered the keynote, urging students to embrace uncertainty and see challenges as part of growth. Educators said the summit left students energized and reassured that they don’t need life fully figured out yet.
