A crowded Republican primary for a state Assembly seat took shape after a weekend convention, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The Wayne County Republican Committee endorsed George Dobbins, a Lyons Town Board member, as its candidate for the 130th Assembly District. Dobbins already holds the Conservative Party endorsement and says he plans to run on working-class, conservative priorities.
Other Republicans in the race include Mark Johns of Webster and former Marion town supervisor Summer Johnson, though neither has said whether they’ll force a primary. On the Democratic side, Joe Lamanna of Williamson has entered the race after the party’s 2024 candidate dropped out. Incumbent Assemblyman Brian Manktelow is not seeking re-election.
