Police arrested a Branchport man after investigating a reported domestic incident involving unlawful entry and physical restraint.
John E. Kriese, 62, was taken into custody Jan. 29 following the report, according to police.
Police said Kriese unlawfully entered the victim’s residence and subjected the victim to unwanted physical contact. Officers reported the incident involved shoving, choking, and restraining the victim from escaping.
The victim went to the Penn Yan Police Department with a witness and provided a statement. Police later made contact with Kriese, who responded to the department.
Kriese was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree aggravated harassment, and second-degree harassment. He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
