A record-breaking $4.8 billion investment is heading to VA hospitals nationwide, with local facilities set to see major upgrades, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Part of the funding will flow to the Bath VA Medical Center, paying for building renovations, new roofs on three structures, and removal of asbestos pipe insulation. The money also covers emergency fuel cleanup, repairs, and a three-year electrical systems study.

A similar electrical study will take place at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. Officials say the investment will help maintain aging facilities, upgrade equipment, and support critical projects across the VA system.
