Livingston County is once again looking to recognize people and groups making a difference for the environment.
The Livingston County Environmental Management Council has opened nominations for its 28th annual Earth Day Award. Submissions are due by 4 p.m. on Monday, March 2.
The award honors individuals, businesses, agencies, or organizations that have worked to preserve or improve the Livingston County environment. It also recognizes efforts that educate others about local environmental issues.
Nominees don’t need to live in Livingston County. However, their work must have taken place at least partly within the county.
The council will consider accomplishments from the past year as well as long-term, ongoing efforts. Both public and private sector nominations are welcome.
Nomination forms are available on the Environmental Management Council website. Forms can also be requested by calling the Livingston County Planning Department at 585-243-7550 or 585-335-1734.
Completed nominations can be emailed to Mary Underhill at [email protected]. Submissions may also be mailed to the Livingston County Planning Department at 6 Court Street, Room 305, Geneseo, NY 14454.
More information about the Earth Day Awards and other environmental initiatives is available through the Livingston County Environmental Management Council.
