Deputies arrested a man following a shoplifting investigation at Eastview Mall in the Town of Victor.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a complaint at Von Maur on February 6 around 6:49 p.m.
Investigators allege the suspect selected merchandise and passed all points of sale without paying on two separate dates between February 3 and February 6. The total value of the merchandise was reported at $3,990.
Deputies identified the suspect as Sylvester L. Carter, 47, of Rochester. Deputies said Carter had previously been banned from all Wilmorite Properties.
Carter was charged with grand larceny in the third degree and burglary in the third degree. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
He is scheduled to return to Victor Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
