Deputies arrested a Stanley man after a report that a dog was left outside overnight in extreme cold temperatures .
Police charged Jamie L. Lovejoy, 49, of 4220 South Street with one count of animal cruelty and resisting arrest following a 911 call and a report to the Humane Society, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office .
Deputies say the canine had been left on a porch without adequate shelter during the cold. Investigators reported the dog suffered frostbite on its ears.
Authorities say the dog is now at the Humane Society and is recovering. Officials expect the animal to make a full recovery .
Lovejoy was taken to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment. The sheriff’s office says the investigation remains ongoing.
