Police arrested a Waterloo woman after an incident that escalated during her custody earlier this week.
Denise D. Savage, 41, of Waterloo, was arrested around 7:09 p.m. on February 3 following an incident that police said began on January 31, according to the Waterloo Police Department.
Police said that after officers took Savage into custody, she turned and spat in the face of an officer.
Savage was charged with harassment in the second degree and disorderly conduct.
Police released her on an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date.
