Montour Falls awards $160K to businesses

Three Montour Falls businesses will receive a financial boost through a state-backed grant program aimed at supporting small business growth.

Mayor James Ryan announced that $160,000 has been awarded through the NY Forward Small Business Fund, which supports investment and sustainability in local communities.

The awards followed a detailed review process that required applicants to submit five-page proposals. A Village Review Committee evaluated and ranked the submissions before sending recommendations to the New York State Department of State for final approval.

Jerlando’s Pizza Corp. received $85,000. FLX Studio and Makers Market was awarded $55,000. HL Stevens Furniture received $20,000.

Each business must provide a local match under program guidelines to increase the impact of the state funding. Heritage Resources of Buffalo administers the grant program on behalf of the village.

“These businesses not only contribute to our local economy but also reflect the creative energy and resilience that make our village a great place to live and work,” Ryan said.

Village officials said the funding will help strengthen Montour Falls’ small business community while encouraging continued investment downtown.
