An Amazon distribution center moved a step closer to Big Flats after the town planning board gave conditional approval to “Project Milo,” according to WENY. The proposal calls for a 24/7 regional warehouse owned by Amazon on land controlled by the Chemung County Industrial Development Agency.
The site sits off Lowe Road near Sperr Park and Interstate 86. Board members said a traffic study found no major impact, even with tractor trailers and delivery vans coming and going around the clock.
The approval includes 11 conditions, with stormwater permits and utility sign-offs still required. A public hearing is expected in March, and if final approvals follow, construction could begin later this spring or summer.
