A surprise $100,000 donation is set to push a Geneva filmmaker’s documentary to a national audience, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The gift followed a hometown screening of I’m Still Here, Love by Geneva native Meg Daniels at the Smith Opera House.
The anonymous donor stepped in to fund distribution after seeing the film’s emotional impact. The money allows Daniels to partner with Together Films to build a nationwide community screening campaign starting in 2026.
The documentary examines how medical misinformation shaped pandemic decisions, especially in BIPOC communities. Screenings will roll out through Kinema, pairing the film with guided discussions focused on empathy and media literacy.
