Deputies arrested a Geneva woman after an investigation into a welfare fraud referral uncovered undisclosed income.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Maddisson Murray, 32, on February 2 following an investigation tied to a referral from the Ontario County Department of Social Services.
Investigators said Murray failed to report new employment and income between August 2 and October 31. Authorities determined that if she had properly disclosed the information, she would have received $366 less in public benefits between September 1 and October 31.
Deputies charged Murray with petit larceny and welfare fraud in the fifth degree.
The arrest took place at a West Avenue address in Geneva. Investigator A. Colburn handled the case, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
