Plans to turn a shuttered Boy Scout camp into a private campground just cleared a major hurdle, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The Town of Phelps Planning Board ruled the proposed Heritage Lake Campground won’t cause significant environmental harm under the state review process. That decision allows redevelopment of the former Camp Dittmer on Toll Road to move ahead.
The project calls for 51 RV sites, boutique camping options, new and renovated bathhouses and cabins, upgraded water and sewer systems, and new internal roadways.
Town officials say residents can still submit comments directly to Town Hall as the project advances.
