Sirens will echo across Ithaca just after noon Wednesday as Cornell University runs a full emergency alert test, according to 14850.com.
The university plans to activate campus sirens at 12:10 p.m. on February 4, while also sending texts, emails, voice calls, and on-screen alerts to registered users. Social media feeds and Cornell websites will carry the message too.
Cornell uses the system to warn about real emergencies like severe weather or campus closures and urges students, staff, and faculty to confirm their contact info before the test.
