Uncertainty is growing at the CNY SPCA after its entire board resigned and staff say they’ve heard nothing since, according to CNY Central.
The board stepped down Jan. 28, one day after employees walked out, citing neglect and unsafe conditions. Volunteers say the silence since then only reinforces staff concerns, as a promised 30-day transition drags on with little communication.
State officials say the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets will conduct an educational visit, followed by an unannounced inspection. Meanwhile, questions are mounting over whether local or state leaders should step in to stabilize the shelter.
