A $15,000 donation will help the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department reduce debt tied to a critical piece of equipment.
The department announced it recently received its annual contribution from Seneca Meadows landfill, continuing a long-running partnership that dates back to 2007.
With this year’s donation included, Seneca Meadows has now contributed a total of $765,000 to the Waterloo Fire Department. That figure includes a $495,000 donation made in 2024 that helped pay for a new pumper truck.
Fire officials said this year’s funds will go toward paying down the remaining debt on a brush truck purchased in 2023.
“Seneca Meadows goes above and beyond to support our safety needs and their support is a benefit for all Fayette town and Waterloo town & village residents and taxpayers,” District Chief Donald Hartzell said.
Seneca Meadows, a Waste Connections company, has provided consistent financial support to the department as it upgrades vehicles and equipment used to protect the community.
