Police in Bath arrested a man early Thursday morning on a Superior Court warrant tied to a narcotics investigation that dates back to last summer.
Shane M. Cummings, 31, of Bath, was taken into custody around 1:05 a.m. Jan. 30 by a member of the Village of Bath Police Department, according to police.
Cummings is charged by grand jury indictment with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, both Class B felonies.
Police said the arrest stems from a lengthy investigation into the possession and sale of narcotics in the Village of Bath in July 2025.
Cummings was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Steuben County Court.
At the time of his arrest, police said Cummings was found in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. The substance will be sent to a laboratory for testing, and additional charges are expected.
