Seneca chamber honors businesses, leaders at annual dinner

The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce recognized standout businesses, organizations, and community leaders during its annual awards dinner last week.

The chamber hosted its 58th Annual Chamber Dinner on Jan. 22 at Ventosa Vineyards, drawing chamber members, community leaders, and state officials from across the region .

The evening featured a silent auction, live auction, and the presentation of community awards.

The Bonafiglia Family Foundation received the Project of the Year award for its work on the Seneca Falls mural project. The foundation partnered with local and regional businesses to create two new murals highlighting Seneca Falls history and strengthening community placemaking while boosting tourism.

The Menzo Case Humanitarian of the Year Award went to the Town of Ovid for its collective response to the January 2025 Main Street fire that destroyed several businesses and homes. First responders from across the county battled the blaze overnight in subzero conditions, while residents, nonprofits, and businesses rallied to support those affected.

Montezuma Winery & Hidden Marsh Distillery earned Business of the Year honors after expanding its tasting room, growing its business during an industry downturn, and earning multiple state and regional awards. The business also acquired Swedish Hill Winery and rebranded Penguin Bay Winery as Either Oar Wine, Whiskey, & Cheese Bar.

Chamber officials thanked sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make the event possible.
