A chain-reaction crash on West Main Street forced a road closure and sent one driver to the hospital Thursday afternoon in the Village of Clifton Springs.
The three-vehicle crash happened around 1:43 p.m. between Silver Street and Foster Avenue, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office .
Investigators say a Suburban driven eastbound by 20-year-old Juan Ahshad Story of Shortsville struck a parked four-door sedan on the shoulder of the road.
The impact pushed the parked car into a second unoccupied Suburban parked nearby.
Authorities say the parked vehicles belonged to Lauranne M. McPherson, 63, and Kelly Marie Quinn, 34, both of Clifton Springs.
The crash caused substantial damage, scattering debris across the roadway and blocking both lanes of travel.
Law enforcement closed West Main Street between Silver Street and Foster Avenue for about an hour to prevent additional crashes and preserve the scene.
Story was transported to Clifton Springs Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance, where he was treated for minor injuries.
Deputies cited him for speed not reasonable and prudent.
Clifton Springs Fire assisted at the scene, and Lannon’s Garage handled vehicle removal.
