Auburn’s police captains are sitting out this election cycle — choosing neutrality over political endorsements, according to The Citizen.
The Auburn Police Command Unit says staying impartial protects public trust and avoids any perception of bias. Their decision comes just days after the city’s police officers’ union backed multiple local candidates, including a former officer running for sheriff.
Captains say they’ll work with whoever wins — and urged voters to make their own informed choices at the polls.
