Sennett officials will hold a special town board meeting next week to discuss creating a town-wide ambulance district.
The public information session is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, at 6 p.m. at Sennett Town Hall, located at 6931 Cherry Street Road in Auburn. Town leaders say they encourage residents to attend.
The meeting will focus on whether Sennett should establish its own ambulance district to ensure consistent emergency medical service for residents. The notice was published in The Citizen on January 27.
Local officials and first responders have pushed for action since AMR Ambulance left Cayuga County in December 2023. The Sennett Fire Department said the meeting represents an important step toward securing reliable ambulance coverage for the town.
The notice was issued by order of the Town Board and signed by Town Clerk Kathleen Salisbury.
