Dobbins lands key endorsement in 130th race, Clyde mayor backs out

A crowded Assembly race shifted Sunday when local Conservatives lined up behind a Lyons official, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

The Wayne County Conservative Committee endorsed George Dobbins for the 130th Assembly District at its nominating convention. The district covers all of Wayne County and the town of Webster in Monroe County. Dobbins said he plans to push conservative values and focus on working families if elected.

The endorsement came as the field reshaped. Clyde Mayor Jerry Fremouw withdrew, citing concerns about the nomination process. Former Marion supervisor Summer Johnson remains in the race, while Monroe County Legislator Mark Johns has entered and seeks Republican backing.
