Crews rush to early morning fire in Fayette: Tanker task force requested

Firefighters from across Seneca County rushed to a working house fire early this morning along Route 414 near Marsh Road.

Multiple departments responded to the scene in the Town of Fayette, according to Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire, as crews reported an active structure fire and requested additional help.

Fire companies from Fayette, Border City, Ovid, Romulus, Waterloo, Canoga, Varick, Junius, and Interlaken responded to the fire, along with North Seneca Ambulance. A tanker task force was also dispatched to support firefighting operations.

Romulus Fire Department’s truck arrived on scene as crews began getting water on the fire.

Additional units continued responding as the incident unfolded, and Lodi firefighters were placed on standby at the Romulus station.

Fire Wire moderators noted they may have missed some departments due to radio traffic during the initial dispatch.

Officials have not released information on injuries, damage, or the cause of the fire. The situation remained active as crews worked to contain the blaze.
