Waterloo man arrested on harassment, tampering charges

Deputies arrested a man late Thursday night following a disturbance that led to harassment and criminal tampering charges in Seneca County.

The arrest involved Arcangel L. Soler, 56, of Waterloo, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Timothy Thompson said deputies took Soler into custody around 10:10 p.m. on Jan. 23 after an incident in which Soler allegedly caused minor injury to another person by subjecting the victim to unwanted physical contact. Deputies charged him with harassment in the second degree, a violation.

While in custody, Soler was additionally charged with criminal tampering in the third degree, a misdemeanor, after deputies said he urinated on the floor of the deputies’ room at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center.

Deputies turned Soler over to the corrections division. Authorities said he was scheduled to appear in CAP Court for arraignment the following morning to answer the charges.

New York State Police assisted deputies at the scene.
