More businesses can now compete for facade grants in Schuyler County, according to Special to The Odessa File. Finger Lakes Gateway, a DBA of SCOPED, Inc., updated its Facade Improvement Program to expand who qualifies and how projects score.
The program offers reimbursable grants to improve commercial and mixed-use building exteriors. New rules allow projects outside village centers to compete, while reviewers still prioritize readiness and impact. Owner labor won’t earn reimbursement but can count toward project commitment.
Since 2022, the program has funded 31 businesses, turning about $292,000 in public dollars into roughly $2 million in private investment.
